A scholarship is mostly received by students who are currently applying for a certain institution or are already studying in an institution. Whenever you receive a scholarship, it is considered a kind gesture that you write a letter back to the people who have offered you the scholarship so you can thank them and accept the scholarship that you have been offered.
Writing the letter is quite simple. Start with the scholarship and the amount they have given you and explain how it has helped you out during your studies. Maintain a professional and formal tone throughout the letter. The second paragraph should include a little about yourself, so they can know the person to whom they have offered the scholarship.

I am currently a Civil Engineering student, who is emphasizing more on transport and roads. I am currently planning to pursue my career in the Town Planning of Chicago. For now, I am a junior who is only learning his ways into the field and currently, I am only in the second term of the third semester. Therefore, I will be graduating in January 2015.
