Character Reference Letter for Graduate Program

To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I am writing this character reference letter on behalf of Chung Lee, who I refer to as Samuel. I first met Samuel in 2013 while working as a teaching assistant in the inorganic chemistry laboratory class of the University of California, Irvine, and that gave me the opportunity to relate with Samuel who was a chemistry major undergraduate student in the same institution. As a teaching assistant, I have had the opportunity to observe Samuel’s participation and interaction in laboratory classes. I would rate his performance and character excellent.

All my encounters with Samuel in the laboratory were great and he was able to demonstrate his analytic skills in the laboratory. He was punctual, attentive and he asked reasonable questions related to the subject. Additionally, Samuel helped me immensely for almost two years with my nanomaterials and solar energy research. He was supportive and also spared his time to assist my team in the laboratory. Even though I was the team supervisor for the project, I was happy having Samuel around.

I appreciate the excellent communication and presentation skills possessed by Samuel. I was present at his presentation in the organic chemistry class and I was very impressed with the manner he presented and analyzed the topic to the audience. He was very confident and showed the audience that he read and understood the topic. Another thing about Samuel is that he is a personable person who is comfortable in relating with his peers, colleagues and professors. I knew him to treat others with compassion, respect and understanding. His unique blend of humor and positive energy makes her an ideal candidate to deal with problematic or highly sensitive situations.

Based upon my experience and academic relationship with Chung Lee at the University of California, Irvine, it is my pleasure recommending him for admission into the program he is applying for and I know he would be a good ambassador of your school if admitted. Feel free to contact me for additional information about him.

Regards,
James Howard
