Dear Reference Chair,
I am writing to you today about my sweet neighbor growing up, Jane Doe. She will be attending Howard University in the Fall and she will also be going through sorority recruitment. I am a Delta Sigma Thema alumna from the University of Oakhaloma (graduated 2015) and I know she will make an excellent addition to Delta Sigma Theta at Howard University for many different reasons.
Jane is extremely intelligent, very philanthropic, and a social butterfly. Jane is eight years younger than me but growing up right next door to each other, I always referred to her as my “Mini Me”. I have known her for 14 years now and I have watched her grow up into an outstanding, real, strong, young woman. Jane is graduating in the top 6% of her class and she is the Senior Class Vice President. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, a Texas Scholar, a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, and has been on the Academic Honor Roll for all four years of high school.
Jane is also the Varsity Cheerleading Captain and on the Varsity Track and Field team. This year, she was also on the Homing Court and she was recognized in iCheer Magazine as the All-American Academic High School Cheerleader of the Year. Jane is also involved in Young Life and has volunteered with Be the Change, Fair Haven, Breast Cancer Awareness events, and United Blood Drive Services.
Jane would make an outstanding member of Howard University’s Delta Sigma Theta because she is dedicated to academic success, and passionate about philanthropy and serving others. She is outgoing, active, and involved in several different social and sporting extracurriculars. I truly believe that Jane will shine in Delta Sigma Theta and could possibly be the sorority’s president when the time comes!
Dear Reference Chair,
I am writing to highly recommend Jane Smith for membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I have had the pleasure of knowing Jane for several years and can confidently say that she embodies the principles and values of the organization.
Jane is a dedicated and passionate leader who is committed to serving her community. She has volunteered countless hours at local non-profit organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Club and the local soup kitchen. She has consistently demonstrated a willingness to go above and beyond in her efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of those around her. Jane is also a strong academic performer, maintaining a 3.8 GPA while double majoring in sociology and African American studies. In addition, she is actively involved in various campus organizations, including the Black Student Union and the NAACP.
As a member of Jane’s community service team, I have had the opportunity to witness her leadership skills firsthand. She is able to effectively communicate and work with a diverse group of people, and she always puts the needs of the community first. She is also a great listener and is always open to feedback and suggestions.
Jane has consistently demonstrated the characteristics of a true Delta woman, including integrity, scholarship, and service. I have no doubt that she would make a valuable addition to the sisterhood and would be an asset to the organization as a whole. I wholeheartedly recommend her for membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dear Reference Chair,
I am writing to recommend Sarah Johnson for membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As Sarah’s mentor and friend, I have had the pleasure of observing her dedication and commitment to her community firsthand.
Sarah is a natural leader who is passionate about making a positive impact on those around her. She is actively involved in several community service projects, including mentoring at-risk youth and organizing food drives for low-income families. Her dedication to service is truly admirable and I have no doubt that she would be a valuable addition to the sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta.
In addition to her community service efforts, Sarah is also a dedicated student. She has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to think critically and analytically and has been recognized by her professors for her outstanding contributions to class discussions and group projects. Furthermore, she has been selected to participate in a prestigious internship program in her field of study, which is a testament to her abilities and potential.
Sarah has also demonstrated a deep understanding and commitment to the principles of Delta Sigma Theta. She is knowledgeable about the organization’s history, mission, and programs, and has expressed a strong desire to become a member. I wholeheartedly recommend Sarah for membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has the potential to make a significant impact on the organization and I am confident that she will be a valuable asset to the sisterhood.
