Scholarship Acceptance Letter

A scholarship is mostly received by students who are currently applying for a certain institution or are already studying in an institution. Whenever you receive a scholarship, it is considered a kind gesture that you write a letter back to the people who have offered you the scholarship so you can thank them and accept the scholarship that you have been offered.

Writing the letter is quite simple. Start with the scholarship and the amount they have given you and explain how it has helped you out during your studies. Maintain a professional and formal tone throughout the letter. The second paragraph should include a little about yourself, so they can know the person to whom they have offered the scholarship.

Dear Mr. Jacobs

I am writing this letter in order to thank you for your generous $500 citizen scholarship. I was extremely happy and even appreciative to learn that I was selected amongst so many other people to become the recipient of your scholarship.

I am currently a Civil Engineering student, who is emphasizing more on transport and roads. I am currently planning to pursue my career in the Town Planning of Chicago. For now, I am a junior who is only learning his ways into the field and currently, I am only in the second term of the third semester. Therefore, I will be graduating in January 2015. Right after graduation, I am expected to fly to Melbourne in order to complete my Master’s degree. Thanks to you, I am a step closer to that goal.

Thank you so much for awarding me this scholarship and giving me a chance to explore my potentials in this university. I accept this scholarship offer and expect that it is going to work a lot in my favor. You simply lightened the financial burden which was levied upon my shoulders. Now I will be able to focus more on my studies and also community work, which has always been an important part of my life. I hope that one day I am able to help students achieve their goals just the way you have helped me.

Sincerely yours,

Roberto Martinez.
